Wonders Never Cease
The tagline "Wonders Never Cease" headlines a brochure for North Carolina's Grandfather Mountain. And that slogan was definitely true for the group of Globe Treks guests who got the opportunity to experience the magic of Grandfather Mountain on a day tour this spring.
At 5,946 feet, Grandfather Mountain is the highest peak on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains. On clear days, it is possible to see the city of Charlotte and the temperature is always at least ten degrees cooler than the foothills of WNC.
A naturalist at the state park delighted our guests with a presentation on the history of Grandfather Mountain and took them on an (easy) hike pointing out the native wildlife habitats and the park's biologically diverse landscape. The Grandfather Mountain area has more plant diversity than all of Europe. Our tour to Grandfather Mountain was the perfect springtime excursion to one of WNC's most breathtaking parks.
